Planetside 2

I'm not sure how many people in the game are into FPS games or are looking into PS2, but I just thought I'd mention it. Planetside 2 is a MMOFPS coming out in 2 days. It is, of course, a sequel to Planetside, which was an EPIC experience (until SOE turned it to crap).

I remember playing the original Planetside when it first came out. I was wandering around the starting base when someone landed a Galaxy (a large flying troop transport that could hold something like 10 people and a small vehicle in the back). I loaded up in that thing and we took off. We flew over this base and looking down you could see literally hundreds if not thousands of tracer rounds flying over the battlefield. You could have up to nearly 1000 people in the same continent fighting for control. It spawned many epic, massive scale fights with tank columns and air squadrons and Galaxy troop drops. It was absolutely awesome back in its good days.

Anyway, Planetside 2 is coming out on the 20th and from what I've experienced so far in the beta it's bringing all that back and more. It's faster paced, looks awesome, and can support up to 2000 players per continent spread across the three factions. I'm really looking forward to it and it's also FREE TO PLAY! I'll definitely try to be online on Tuesday (work is gonna suck this week).

Just thought I'd try to drum up some interest if anyone likes FPS games. Remember, this is a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER FPS game and it definitely feels a lot more action-packed (in my opinion) than CoD or Halo or any other FPS that gives you, at best, 32 player multi. I don't know what server I'm going to be on, but I am going to be playing on the Vanu Sovereignty faction, which was my primary faction in the original (MAGMOWER FOREVER!).

Yeah I have been following this for a while hoping to get into beta and what not. I will most likely check it out. How grindy was the original and how grindy is this one supposed to be?

Played a bit tonight, mostly had no clue as to what I was doing. But was still fun.
