My Macbook Pro does not run WoW anymore . I just graduated and got some money from relatives and such. Does anyone have a computer they need to sell. I do not need a top of the line computer just something that will run at 30-35 FPS in a 25 man raid.

In the meantime what spec's should I look for in a computer? I have not kept up with budget gaming stuff, so what do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance.

Well first of all, you wanna find a frost specced computer, so it doesn't overheat.

You also might wanna consider going with a rogue version because ot runs faster because of sprint.

In addition, I'd also throw a little tank into the mix, DK, Warrior, Druid, Pally, you name it, so it'll have a long lifespan.

Other than that, not much you have to look for in a computer.

You can save a lot of money doing it yourself. I don't know how technical you are, but at Tiger Direct you can get some great systems, you just have to put it together yourself. I also don't know your budget so there is a variety here:

You can also find pre-built computers there as well. But the best bang for your buck are the barebones systems on tiger direct.

With this option you end up with something new, and not someone else's problems.

A couple of us have recently built computers on newegg. As in, Computer + Monitor for about $650. Kicks WoW's ass and handles most other recent games on medium/high settings.

What the hell did you do to your poor MBP?

I got the Geforce 9500 GT 1GB for about 50 with free shipping, but the price went up by a few dollars since. I dunno what Ese got. But I'd recommend a cheapo brand, but a nice ass card, somewhere around 70 bucks if you're trying to save but you still want something good. I get 60fps in wow with vertical sync on, and about 45ish in a 25-man. If you want real for cheap, get like two 9600's and just go sli.

PS: I don't know shit about video cards. Ask Pete or someone.

Yeah NewEgg is THE place, always get my stuff from there, service has been great, never any problems.

Operating System: 2 options -

Option 1) if you still have your student ID card, go to your computer shop and buy a version of windows XP or Vista.. doesnt matter. My sister-in-law picked up a version of Vista 32-bit for $9.99. All depends on the relationship your campus has w/ Microsoft. Usually, there is a big discount. Don't listen to anyone gripe about Vista most of the negative claims are complete BS.. usually by Apple Fanboys (I own a MacBook btw). Vista is just as good as OSX.

There you go. A simple build it yourself system for under $540. S&H shouldn't be too much, so you should still be under $600. The nice thing about a setup like this is that it will give you room to grow in the future. If you video is lacking, you can upgrade. If you need more power, add a new Processor.. etc.

If you are wondering why I didn't list a video card, it is because the Motherboard has a built in ATI Radeon 3300. This will handle WoW and then some. I have a similar board and while I was waiting for my video cards ( CrossfireX 4850's) I was playing w/ zero problems.

I can pretty much vouch for any of the products I have recommended as I have either owned it or a version not far from it.

Stick w/ Newegg for any PC hardware purchase though. TigerDirect is a joke. The customer service is horrible and the prices are generally greater than Newegg.com.

If you have more than $600 to play around with, you have many... many more options.

Don't worry about building a PC if you have never done so before... It is ridiculously easy.

Anyone else have a hardware recommendation?

More ram, less on the mobo.
