Serpent Sting's damage has been increased by 100%, and its cost has been reduced to 15 Focus (was 25).
Improved Serpent Sting now deals 15% of its total damage instantly (was 30%).
The Imp SS change will leave the damage unchanged (doubled SS/halved imp SS), but the AoE damage over time for SV is gonna be pretty beast. Also might make multi dotting worthwhile, and a decent single target buff. Baby steps, but yay.
Mage

The periodic damage from Combustion has been reduced by 50%.
The critical strike chance multiplier from Critical Mass has been reduced to 1.25 (was 1.5).
Ouch. That's gonna hurt our raid more than most.
Certain short-term buffs, such as Bloodlust, are now cleared when entering the Brawler's Arena. Long term effects, such as Heart of the Wild, will persist.
Good. That seemed cheesy as fuck.
The Blingtron 4000 Gift Package now has a higher chance to drop valuable items, and a bonus chance to drop an additional sellable item.
That mage thing is honestly needed, we shouldn't be throwing up 90k+ combustions that easily so all it did was bring us back to pre-combustion change but I don't think it will be worse than before.
Mistweaver
The mana costs of Jab, Spinning Crane Kick, Soothing Mist, Crackling Jade Lightning, and Renewing Mist have been increased by 30%.
Soothing Mist and Crackling Jade Lightning now have a 30% chance to generate Chi when they deal damage (was 35%)
Stop nerfing me! I don't even know if blizzard knows what to do. They just lowered the mana cost of soothing mist by 33% in patch 5.1. Now they increase it by 30%, basically undoing it just a couple days later.
Ok after trying fire post-nerf, I think blizzard may have been having a bad day and hit the nerf bat too hard. The combustion nerf brought it to where it was pre 5.1, which is whatever, but that critical mass nerf is 2x worse. I could only try on dummies self-buffed but combustions are like 2x-3x lower than I could do before on dummies pre 5.1. Mage forums are almost ready to cry and the higher ilvl gear you have, the more your dps got worse after this patch. People with 490+(like myself) are saying they are getting 20-35k lower deeps in raid after hotfix. This is not cool.
Yeah, I've read that the CM nerf was a bit off base. Ruins fire mage scaling (which may of been OP as the expansion went on) but makes it unplayable at low gear levels and makes the spec really boring to play.
I think a smarter nerf would of been reducing some damage on Pyro or something. That shit hits ridiculously hard.
