I'm ordering my 4GB RAM tomorrow and was curious to know if it would improve my fps.

I'm on a Macbook with half the RAM but the same processor, and I rarely have any major issues. ... Aside from the last minute of Wintergrasp.

More ram will decrease load times, but I don’t think it will have a dramatic effect on FPS. To increase FPS usually means faster video card.

Video card? Background program? RAM speed? All drivers up to date?
Additional ram usually doesn't equal fps, like wilx said, unless you're way low. The above questions may be helpful for us to evaluate and lend a hand.

Re: WTB Tech Savvy fellows
I upgraded my ram and video card recently and it had 0 if not a negative impact on my FPS in WoW.
It's hard to find any useful info, but my take from reading threads of people bitching about performance in 25mans is that WoW (for whatever reason) is heavily dependent on the CPU rather than GPU and it is easily bottlenecked.
RAM probably won't do shit for your FPS, other than reducing the occasional gfx lag spike and maybe load times.
That said, I dunno squat about macs.

What do you mean by drivers up to date? Mac users get Software Updates from time to time which I am up to date on.
Miises:
I had the impression that RAM would help because well, Blizz techies have suggested it and I noticed people on the Mac Tech Forums mentioning they upgrade their ram and they notice a great improvement. But, it would be great if you gave me some suggestions on what to do.
Pretty glad I didn't make the order yet

Re: WTB Tech Savvy fellows
The two things that stick out to me are:
Low video ram (128mb): This stinks because it's a laptop and hard to upgrade
Low RAM Speed: This you can change, although i'm not sure how much affect it will have on the fps.
Are you running on low video settings on wow?

According to Tom's Hardware my 9800 GTX+ is 5 times faster than yours. If a serious Boss encounter can slow mine down under 15fps, yours would be under 3fps.

Yes, while the mobile versions of video card are great for video performance/power they lack a bit in the first of the two. That said, on lower video settings, it seems to me that you should be able to get at least 20fps during encounters. Let us know how it goes!
